Want a better sabbatical?

Coaching and travel logistics for career-break takers who want to see the world, not just take a break from it.

Ninety seconds on why I built this — and what I actually do.
Where Career Breaks Go Wrong

A sabbatical requires a lot more than sightseeing.

The compass of travel has swung hard toward consumption — see more, post more, tick more off the list. Participation, intention, and a well-rounded activity schedule is the thing that actually changes people, and nearly nobody knows that. After years of working with sabbatical takers, we see the same preventable problems every time.

You under-plan it

Book the flight, figure the rest out later. Then half the sabbatical goes to too much rest, last-minute expensive choices, and obligations you meant to drop taking over — or worse, you get depressed from a lack of direction.

Or you over-plan it

Every night booked, every day scripted. You come home with a completed itinerary and a full camera roll and nothing that touched you. A packed calendar is the enemy of exploration and play.

You build it around destinations, not transformation

Twelve countries in four months. The list gets longer and you stay exactly the same. Places don't change people. The intention behind it does.

And planning it is a full-time job

Visas, routing, seasonality, vaccinations, what to do with your apartment. You negotiated time away from work and now you're running operations at 11pm after work.

The Adventuras Sabbatical by Bailey Lammon
The Book

The Adventuras Sabbatical

A field guide to turning time off into the journey that renews, redefines, and rebuilds your life — for anyone standing at the edge of a career break. The whole method, written down, for $7.

Why Now

You only get one chance to get it right.

You already cleared the hurdle of getting the time off. How you use it is the only variable left, and it is the one most people hand over to chance — and then regret it.

Don't regret yours.

Ways To Work Together

Three ways to build a better sabbatical.

Every one of these is built to get you participating in the world instead of just consuming the sights.

Common Questions

Straight answers.

What does this cost?

It depends which of the three you want. The Launch Kit is $46. Kickstart Coaching — three calls plus the kit, no logistics handled — is $750 one-time, and that's where most people start. Full Sabbatical Design is $625 a week, charged only for the weeks I'm actively planning — six before you go, plus every week you're away. The final six weeks home drop to $250. A six-month sabbatical works out at $19,000, invoiced every four weeks. Run it through the calculator to see it against your own trip budget.

Is there a minimum budget to work with you?

My coaching services are for everyone. Even one 60-minute call with me could be enough to alter your plans for the better, and the Kickstart Coaching package is designed to work at any budget — you get all of the expertise, and someone to call when you need support. If you want all of the logistics handled for you, we recommend a budget of at least $12,000 per month. The calculator will tell you which side of that line you're on before we ever speak.

How far in advance do I need to start?

We can start planning whenever you're ready. I'd recommend reaching out at least six months before departure for your first coaching session and the initial planning work — longer if you want travel planning support for peak season, or for the exclusive, big bucket-list activities that book out early. Honestly, reach out as soon as you're looking. We'll talk through your goals and your timeline and work out the best route for you.

What if I don't know where I want to go yet?

Good. That's the ideal starting point. The Star Map works backwards from what you want the time to do for you, and destinations fall out of that. Clients who arrive with a fixed list usually end up changing it.

I'm not taking a full year. Is this still for me?

The methodology is built for 8+ weeks. Below that the four-phase structure compresses more than it should, and honestly, your trip will look a lot more like a long vacation. If that's the case, it's worth questioning whether you've given yourself enough time for a sabbatical at all — the research points to a minimum of about two months before the benefits really show up.

Can't I just book this myself?

You can, and people do. What you can't easily do yourself is the coaching layer, the Virtuoso and Fora rates, in-country support at 2am when a border closes, and the reintegration work — which is the part almost everyone skips and later regrets.

What if my plans change while I'm travelling?

They will. That's not a risk, it's the expected case, and it's most of what Phase Two is for. Real-time itinerary changes are included, not billed extra.
